The passage of the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act (PECA) with unprecedented haste has raised serious concerns about the intent behind this move. Barrister Dr. Saif strongly condemns the government’s approach, likening it to bulldozing legislation without due diligence. He remarked that such a reckless process should be recorded in the Guinness Book of World Records as an example of rushed and flawed lawmaking.

Commenting on the amendments made to the 26th Amendment and the PECA Act, Barrister Dr. Saif stated that they are nothing more than a desperate attempt to cling to power. He compared the government’s actions to a drowning man clutching at straws, suggesting that these measures are driven by fear rather than necessity.

He further asserted that draconian laws cannot salvage the sinking ship of an illegitimate government. According to him, the public will not stand for such oppressive tactics, and these measures will only deepen the crisis rather than resolve it.

Highlighting the broader implications, Barrister Dr. Saif criticized the fake government’s attempts to safeguard its rule at the cost of national institutions. He warned that such actions inflict irreparable damage on the credibility of these institutions, with long-term consequences for governance and democracy.

In conclusion, Barrister Dr. Saif reaffirmed his unwavering support for the journalist community in their struggle against this unconstitutional law. He emphasized that freedom of speech and press must be upheld, and no government should be allowed to suppress these fundamental rights.
