Advisor to the Information and Public Relations Department, Barrister Dr. Saif, has stated that the Bagan incident in Kurram district is part of a malicious conspiracy by enemies of peace. He appealed to both Shia and Sunni communities not to fall victim to the nefarious plots of these peace enemies. While the situation is under control after the incident, the convoy was temporarily halted, and it will resume its journey as soon as clearance is given.
In a statement following the incident, Barrister Dr. Saif explained that he was present a short distance from the incident site, accompanied by the Commissioner and DIG Kohat, along with other officials. He clarified that the news regarding his injury is incorrect, and he is safe.
Providing further details on the incident, Barrister Dr. Saif said that after the peace agreement, a convoy consisting of 75 large vehicles was about to depart. Before the convoy could leave, unidentified miscreants opened fire on the convoy of Deputy Commissioner Javedullah Mahsud in the Bagan area. As a result, Deputy Commissioner Javedullah Mahsud and three of his guards were injured. The Deputy Commissioner and his guards were transferred to Ali Zai Hospital in a wounded condition. After receiving initial medical treatment, the Deputy Commissioner was transferred from Ali Zai Hospital to CMH Tal, and later airlifted to CMH Peshawar. The Deputy Commissioner’s condition is now stable.
The Advisor to Information confirmed that the peace enemies will be brought to justice, and peace will be restored in the region at all costs. Barrister Dr. Saif also emphasized that under the special instructions of the Chief Minister, he was personally present to ensure the safe departure of the convoy and its arrival in Kurram. The Commissioner of Kohat Division, Mutasim Baullah, DIG, and other officials were also with him. He added that a peace agreement had been reached through a grand jirga for the restoration of peace in the region. The convoy was supposed to depart for Kurram under the peace agreement, but this unfortunate incident occurred. Barrister Saif assured that the peace enemies would not succeed in their malicious intentions.
