Province becomes Pakistan’s healthcare leader as revolutionary expansion adds four life-saving procedures; OPD services pilot launching in Mardan
PESHAWAR: KP Sehat Card Now Covers Free Liver, Kidney, Bone Marrow Transplants
Advisor to the Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for Information and Public Relations, Barrister Dr. Saif, has announced that the provincial government has added four more complex and expensive treatments to the Sehat Card Plus program. Liver, kidney, and bone marrow transplants will now be provided completely free of charge. In addition, hearing aid implantation procedures have also been included in the Sehat Card benefits.
He further informed that an OPD (Outpatient Department) pilot project will soon be launched in district Mardan. Following its success, OPD services will be expanded to all panel hospitals across the province.
Under the Sehat Card Plus program, free healthcare services are being provided to 10.6 million families across the province. Since 2016, more than 4.2 million individuals have benefited from the program, with a total expenditure of Rs. 108 billion.
Barrister Dr. Saif emphasized that residents of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa are receiving free healthcare services in 753 panel hospitals across the country, in line with the vision of Imran Khan. The scope of the Sehat Card will soon be further expanded to include treatment for additional diseases. He added that, under the leadership of Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur and in accordance with Imran Khan’s vision, work on welfare projects is progressing rapidly.
