Peshawar: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Information Advisor Barrister Dr. Muhammad Ali Saif has called on Senate Chairman Yousaf Raza Gillani to take contempt proceedings against Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz for failing to implement the production order of PTI leader Ejaz Chaudhry. In a statement, Barrister Saif said that the Punjab Chief Minister has been violating the Senate’s authority for the past three months by not executing the production order of the innocent Ejaz Chaudhry. He urged the Senate Chairman to take decisive action instead of hesitating. “The non-implementation of production orders for three months clearly proves the collusion between the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N),” Barrister Saif stated. He demanded that instead of issuing symbolic statements, the PPP should announce its separation from the government in protest. He further criticized both PPP and PML-N, stating that their so-called political rivalry is merely a deception for the public. “These parties will go down in history as forces that worked against democracy and undermined the 26th Amendment,” he remarked. Barrister Saif reiterated that the government must respect democratic principles and uphold the supremacy of the Senate.
