Provincial leadership unites behind armed forces, warns India against misinterpreting Pakistan’s desire for peace as weakness
PESHAWAR:An emergency meeting of the provincial cabinet was held here Wednesday in the backdrop of India’s unprovoked aggression against Pakistan with Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Ali Amin Khan Gandapur, in the chair. Speaker of the Provincial Assembly and leader of the Opposition in the Assembly also attended the meeting on special invitation besides the cabinet members, Chief Secretary, Inspector General of Police, Additional Chief Secretaries and administrative secretaries. Commissioners and Deputy Commissioners participated in the meeting via video link.
The cabinet offered fateha for the elevation of ranks of the martyrs, speedy recovery of the injured and safety and security of the nation. The cabinet expressed sympathy with the civilians affected by Indian aggression and pledged every possible support for their relief and rehabilitation.Advisor to the Chief Minister on Information & Public Relation, Barrister Dr. Muhammad Ali Saif while briefing media persons about the emergency cabinet meeting informed that the cabinet strongly condemned the unprovoked Indian aggression and expressed grave concern over this blatant act of hostility. The cabinet, he said, reaffirmed an unwavering commitment to the defence of Pakistan and pledged that every sacrifice will be rendered for the protection of the homeland.
Barrister Dr. Saif said that the cabinet assured full cooperation and support to the security forces in giving a befitting response to the Indian aggression. The cabinet, he further said, was briefed on the evolving situation and the steps proposed to be taken for handling any eventuality, which were endorsed by the cabinet.The cabinet termed India’s belligerent actions as highly condemnable and regrettable, particularly denouncing the cowardly targeting of civilian population under the cover of darkness. This act, he said, was termed as a flagrant violation of international law and norms. Sending a clear message to India, the cabinet declared, “We stand fully united and prepared to defend every inch of the beloved country at all costs”.
“We believe in the prophecy of Ghazwa-e-Hind and that victory will be for the Muslims. It will be our honor to be a part of it,” the Chief Minister remarked, adding, “As Muslims, martyrdom is the highest honor, and we are always ready to embrace it.”The Advisor said, the cabinet expressed solidarity with the people of Kashmir and Punjab, assuring them of all possible support, and emphasized that the entire Pakistani nation is united in the defense of the motherland – 250 million people stand as one army.The cabinet further observed that PM Modi’s aggressive policies are not only endangering Pakistan but the security of Indian people and their country as well, Barrister informed. The aggressive posture of India’s fascist regime poses a constant threat to regional peace. “India must not take our desire for peace as a weakness—we will always respond in the same coin, rather more than that” the cabinet warned.
The provincial cabinet paid rich tributes to Pakistan’s security forces for their instant and forceful response to Indian aggression and expressed full solidarity with them on behalf of the people and government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.He said the cabinet called on the international community to take urgent notice of India’s hostile behavior as this was risking the security of the entire region.Barrister Dr. Saif further informed that the cabinet pointed out that PTI founder Imran Khan being the most popular leader of the country must be released and included in all consultations at this critical junction so that a truly united strategy is adopted against the hostile India. The cabinet recalled the commitment of their leader Imran Khan wherein he had vowed to fight upto the last against any aggression by India. Therefore, the cabinet members stated that such a popular leader like Imran Khan cannot be excluded from any efforts to unitedly fight against Indian aggression. The cabinet also said that the inclusion and consultation of Imran Khan was a must for the unity and cohesion of the nation.
The cabinet also vowed never to ignore the terrorist and at the same time will remain vigilant to foil the nefarious designs of the anti-nation elements, informed the Advisor. “For us, Pakistan comes first above everything else and we will defend every inch of our homeland” the cabinet, he said, resolved.
