Barrister Dr. Saif warns of judicial paralysis under 26th Amendment, links Imran’s release to national security amid India tensions
ISLAMABAD:Advisor to the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Information and Public Relations, Barrister Dr. Saif, stated that the decision to schedule the hearing of Imran Khan’s cases on June 5 is a welcome development. He expressed hope that Imran Khan would be honorably acquitted from all cases and released.In a statement issued after a protest outside the Islamabad High Court, Barrister Dr. Saif said that the 26th Constitutional Amendment has paralyzed the judicial system. He emphasized that the chains of this amendment must be broken to ensure immediate justice for Imran Khan. He further said that Imran Khan’s release is not only essential in the fight against terrorism but also in the context of ongoing tensions with India, as Imran Khan is the most popular leader in the country and the only one capable of uniting the nation.
He reiterated that justice delayed is indeed justice denied. The unnecessary delays in the hearings indicate that these cases are baseless and fabricated. If there were any truth in them, the hearings would not have been postponed.
Barrister Dr. Saif further claimed that the real motive behind the delays is to keep Imran Khan imprisoned. He said that Imran Khan is a constant source of pressure on the fake government, and they fear their downfall upon his release, which is why they are preventing it.He added that Imran Khan is the most popular leader in the country. If he cannot get justice, how can an ordinary citizen expect it? Imran Khan has served as the Prime Minister of Pakistan, and the treatment being meted out to him is unacceptable and goes against the principles of justice.
Barrister Dr. Saif also said that even in jail, Imran Khan is not being provided with the facilities he is entitled to. The fake government is using every tactic to break him, but Imran Khan is not someone who can be broken, as he is fighting not for personal gain but for the nation’s cause. He concluded by saying that despite all the tactics used by the government, Imran Khan is only becoming stronger.
