Federal govt illegally passed the Election Amendment Act through Parliament, Barrister Dr Saif
Peshawar: Advisor to Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for Information and Public Relations, Barrister Dr Saif has stated that the federal govt illegally passed the Election Amendment Act through Parliament and has committed Contempt of Court. “Legislation in Parliament is a process, but these oppressors passed it through the committees, assembly and Senate in a single day, with the intent of obstructing Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) from securing reserved seats” He added. Barrister saif said that the Election Amendment Act was not just an ordinary law, this amendment would have severe consequences on the country’s electoral process. The mandate-thieves govt have sabotaged the electoral process by amending the Act. He expressed these views while addressing a press conference in Peshawar. Barrister Dr. Saif further stated that by amending the Election Act, the mandate-thieving government has taken illegal and unconstitutional steps to prevent PTI from securing reserved seats. The federal government should have shown the same seriousness in legislating for the poor people’s interests. He mentioned that due to high electricity bills, people are committing suicide, and if the government cared for the people, they would have legislated against Independent Power Producers (IPPs) as well. The fake government is taking unconstitutional and illegal measures to block PTI’s path. However, despite all these hurdles, our popularity continues to increase. Barrister Dr. Saif said that federal govt have made a shameful mark in history by amending the Election Act to obstruct the Supreme Court’s decision. The Information Advisor stated that in Punjab, raids are being conducted on the homes of our MNAs, and they are being arrested and tortured to prevent them from joining PTI in Parliament.
