Peshawar: A dignified farewell ceremony was held at the Information & Public Relations Department to honour the retirement of Director General Salim Khan. Advisor to Chief Minster for Information & Public Relations Barrister Dr. Saif attended the event as the chief guest, while Secretary Information Muhammad Khalid, Additional Secretary Information Hayat Shah, Deputy Secretary Information Beenish Iqbal, Directors, Deputy Directors, and Assistant Directors were also present.Speaking on the occasion, Barrister Dr. Saif lauded Salim Khan’s long and meritorious services in the Directorate General of Information & Public Relations, commending his professionalism, dedication, and commitment to duty. He said that under Salim Khan’s leadership, the department achieved significant milestones and progressed remarkably.
The Advisor Information presented a commemorative shield to the outgoing DG and expressed his gratitude for his contributions. He remarked that officers like Salim Khan are valuable assets to institutions and serve as role models for younger officers.Secretary Information Muhammad Khalid also paid tribute to Salim Khan, describing him as an experienced, capable, and visionary officer whose leadership led the Directorate General of Information to various important achievements. He added that Salim Khan’s administrative vision and commitment to teamwork are exemplary for younger officials. “He fostered a positive and professional environment within the Directorate General, and his services will be remembered for years to come,” he added.Other speakers at the ceremony also shared their experiences of working with Salim Khan and praised his professional abilities and leadership qualities.In his farewell address, Salim Khan expressed gratitude for Advisor Information, Secretary Information and to his colleagues and staff, stating that he always tried to fulfill his responsibilities with honesty and integrity. He said he was proud to retire with dignity and pledged to continue contributing to the department even after retirement.
The event concluded with prayers and heartfelt wishes for Salim Khan’s future.
