Islamabad: Advisor to Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Information and Public Relations, Barrister Dr. Saif, held a detailed meeting with Afghan Ambassador Sardar Ahmad Shakib in Islamabad. The two sides discussed matters of mutual interest, including the role of both countries in ensuring peace and stability in the region and the initiatives taken by the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government in this regard.
Speaking on the occasion, Barrister Dr. Saif said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Ali Amin Khan Gandapur, the provincial government is taking concrete steps to eliminate terrorism. He emphasized that Afghanistan’s role is crucial in establishing lasting peace and stability.
The meeting also focused on strengthening trade and economic cooperation. Afghan Ambassador Sardar Ahmad Shakib highlighted the need to enhance trade facilities at the Torkham border, stressing that increased trade and stronger economic ties would promote peace and prosperity across the region.
Barrister Dr. Saif also underlined that the revival of economic and trade activities is essential for the well-being of the people. He informed that the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has pledged the construction of a cancer hospital for the Afghan people. In addition, solar tube wells will be provided in Afghanistan’s border areas.
He reiterated that regional development is only possible through mutual trust and cooperation.
