Rapid Distribution of Compensation Cheques in Flood-Affected Districts Underway,Barrister Dr. Saif

Peshawar: Advisor to the Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Information and Public Relations, Barrister Dr. Muhammad Saif has said that the process of distributing compensation cheques among the flood-affected districts is underway at a fast pace.
So far, a total of Rs. 614 million has been disbursed to the families of 307 deceased individuals, while Rs. 15.9 million has been distributed among 34 injured persons. Cheques for the remaining 89 martyrs and 144 injured persons will be issued soon.
The Advisor highlighted that, on the special instructions of the Chief Minister, the martyrs’ compensation package has been increased from Rs. 1 million to Rs. 2 million. Likewise, compensation amounts for damaged homes have also been doubled. Now, owners of completely destroyed houses will receive Rs. 1 million, while those with partially damaged homes will receive Rs. 500,000, up from the previous amounts of Rs. 500,000 and Rs. 250,000 respectively.
Furthermore, Dr. Saif shared that a digital application has been introduced to ensure transparency and timely payments. Through this platform, flood victims are now receiving Rs. 15,000 as immediate relief assistance.
He remarked that this is the first time in the province’s history that compensation payments have been processed and disbursed with such unprecedented speed and efficiency.
Additionally, a comprehensive survey of fully and partially damaged houses is currently ongoing. Upon its completion, compensation cheques will be distributed accordingly to the affected homeowners.
